Towering 62 meters over the banks of the Dnipro River is one of Kyiv’s most striking monuments, the Defender of the Motherland. Surrounding the sculpture is a beautiful and spacious 10 hectare memorial complex that includes the large and memorable “Flame of Glory,” one of the biggest displays of military vehicles and artillery in the country, and Ukraine’s World War II History Museum. The museum, one of the largest in Ukraine, houses one of the biggest collection of World War II relics in one place (it has 400,000+ exhibits!).
